Celebrity Justice
No Nike Deal for Vick

Michael Vick is in deep doggy doo-doo with his endorsement partners for his alleged role in a dogfighting ring. The Atlanta Falcons quarterback has been suspended from big money contracts with Nike, Reebok and a trading card company, thanks to a federal dogfighting indictment against him.

This week, Nike suspended Vick without pay, and released a statement that "Nike is concerned by the serious and highly disturbing allegations made against Michael Vick, and we consider any cruelty to animals inhumane and abhorrent." The company vowed to stop selling Vick-related products but chose not to terminate his contact until his case was filed. Due process of puppy law!

Reebok opted to stop selling Vick's Falcons jersey, as has the NFL, which has suspended sales of Vick's number 7 jersey on nflshop.com. And the Donruss trading card company has pulled Vick's card from new packs.

106. Bottomline, you, obviously, know nothing, whatsoever, above Pit Bulls. That is so untrue.
They make wonderful family pets. Maybe do a bit of research before you let your ignorance shine through.

This issue is NOT about abortion, it is about dog fighting, torture and death by the hands of Michal Vick.

The rule of the COURTS, is that you are "innocent until proven guilty". This is NOT the court and he has been tried and found guilty in the court of public opinion. This is a free country, we are allowed to do that.

I think Bottomline is really Michael Vick in disguise.

107. Once again the media, and general public is starting to spin another sports story icon into a racial issue. I truly hope all the facts come out this time and our sytem of justice works appropriately. Let's hope that high priced lawyers, personal agendas, and racial matters are left out of this one, though I doubt it. This is a case that needs to be done right for all parties concerned, The NFL, Mr. Vick, and even the country. We need to start restoring faith in our American legal system. We need to believe again, that regardless of race, of how much money you earn, or your fame, the truth can come out and justice is served.

112. well one thing is for sure, when the feds bring the heat they mean it. They are only going after him if they have strong case, which most likely means he is guilty. This isn't county farm court, this is federal "pound you in the ass" court and these guys don't lose very often. my $.02

114. someone said that probably 90% of people against Vick are white. so what! I am black, and think that more BLACK people should be against this disgusting situation! Black people, stop making the stereotype that "Blacks don't give a damn about animals" and STOP making this a race thing...this is about humanity! have some compassion for animals who don't choose to be bred, raised, and mistreated. since this thing began, i have been ashamed of my own people. lord help us.

Proven until guilty, no comments and a 5 year long ownership -- s-u-r-e not guilty.

116. TO THE WARDEN TAKE YOUR CONSERVATIVE VIEWS OVER TO SOMEONE WHO CARES. THIS IS A COMMENT BOARD ABOUT DOG FIGHTING NOT ABOUT POLITICS. MICHEAL VICK IS AN INHUMANE PERSON WHO PROFITS OFF DOGS TRYING TO KILL EACHOTHER. BRAVO TO NIKE AND ALL THE OTHERS FOR NOT ENDORSING HIM. LET HIM LOSE ALL HIS MONEY AND SEE HOW IT FEELS.

117. Vick should burn in hell for mistreating animals. They never got a choice in life as to who owned them and sure as hell had no way of tell the world of their pain. I sure hope that we as Americans make Vick's and his fellow friends and participants of the dog fighting's life a living hell for taking advantage of such innocent, vulnerable, trusting creatures. The gambling is not the problem... The big issue is torture and for what Vick and his friends have done they should go to jail for LIFE! Murder is Murder.

The Posters on this site will have a very nice day when you take your views and self righteous statements to a site that is specifically for the discussion of abortions.

AND YOU HAVE A NICE DAY!
