Britney Spears -- Terrierist

Britney Spears sucks, at least according to the Humane Society.

H.S. honchos are pissed off after reading that Spears went to a pet store in fancy Bel Air, Calif., and dropped three grand on a Yorkshire Terrier. The Humane Society has been dogging pet stores, claiming many of the pups come from puppy mills.

H.S. is also really upset that Spears spent only 30 minutes before sealing the deal -- "Choosing a dog is a major lifestyle decision that should not be taken lightly." Apparently, the Humane Society thinks Brit might pull a Paris -- as in getting bored (after all, she does have ADD) and jettisoning one pooch for another.

46. She bought a dog. Get over it. It shouldn't be her who gets spotlighted, it ought to be the store selling her it. Seems like anybody these days loves to get on Britney's publicity trail.

47. Good job Humane Society. I support contacting this girl and giving her the education she desperately needs as a dog owner. In general, the more pressure on an owner to do the right thing, the more likely an unfit owner will surrender the dog rather that be bothered. It gets old to have officers knocking on your door repeatedly to do welfare checks. She will either learn proper care or have a fit and give the pup to someone who cares. Those of you who say it's no big deal to buy a dog are really scary people.

Why come here to TMZ knowing it is a gossip site if it bothers you so? From the information in your post you very clearly read the articles and post on the site yourself. A post I don't agree with at all. Lohan going to a night club after rehab was on every news venue not just TMZ. If you don't like an article scroll on by it, That is with in your control just as not clicking into TMZ at all also is. These sites are not the (excuse) reason young celebs are messed up, Their own choices are.

I agree with post # 46 by Unbelievable.

It's a shame this adult cannot get the attention she craves with her talent.

52. Pets are not accessories! They are not props for cute photo's. They are not security blankets! They are a time consuming responsibility and loving commitment.

53. She had to go to a pet shop because no responsible breeder would sell a dog to her. Period... And I bet most rescues wouldn't either.

54. I also need to add that just because a breeder has a website, that does NOT mean that they are running a puppy mill. Many serious hobby breeders (who only breed 1 or 2 litters a year) have a website. When you think about buying a dog, be prepared to ask the breeder a lot of questions and expect to be asked a lot of questions yourself. Responsible breeders care a great deal about the homes that their dogs go to and won't sell just because someone can cut a check. If a breeder is willing to sell you a dog without asking a lot about your family, living situation and general lifestyle- DON'T BUY! You don't want the dog if the breeder doesn't care what kind of home it's going to.
Great breeders will also take a dog back NO QUESTIONS ASKED if for some reason the home isn't working out.

55. I agree with Lisa 15. The celebs have a rightto ahve a pet adntheir pets are well taken care off ,but whenthe show off a pet as the latest accessory, well ,I cna tell you Yorkie's ar ejumping inthemarket now. yorkies are goingtobe breed at rapid speed now and abandoned by pet ownbers in a year. Sort of like Dalmations after 101 Dalmations was released. I just wish that people would think about pets and not follwo celebs.
paris could be a spoakeswoamnfor pets rights. anothe rthing she could do. Isaid could do . Could. Doing and could do are totally different. .

56. I am sick and tired of celebs buying from pet stores. It is like telling the public that this is ok. Don't they know what a puppymill is? About 98% of all dogs sold at pet stores come from puppymills. Just yahoo what a puppymill is and you will NEVER buy from a pet store again!

57. IF EVERYONE WOULD LEAVE BRIT ALONE MAYBE SHE WOULD GO AWAY.

JUST HOPE THE DOG WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF.
BRIT GROW UP

58. Do a search for "puppy mills" and "puppy mill pictures" to see what is wrong with what she did.

Don't buy from pet stores, you doom another puppy for every one you so-called 'save'. All the while, the sire and dam are stuck in those hell holes and will be bred to near death. These are living things, not products.

I don't support animal rights, but I'm a firm believer in animal welfare. There is a huge difference.

59. *ALL* puppies in pet stores come from puppy mills, not 98%. No reputable breeder, or even half-assed breeder, would breed and sell to pet stores. Some mills are better than others, but they're all horrible and the dogs suffer. Go to a sheler and rescue...save money and a life.

60. Why can't she buy a dog? as long as she takes her in to get her or him shots? I bought a Golden retriever Does that make it ok? Why shame her, she's human And you people. You need to A) get a job that keeps you away from the internet and B) Get a LIFE. You Blast her for trying. She's great she'll get her stuff together find a guy who won't drain her and one who brings her up spiritually :)
God Bless everyone. Remember He who casts the first stone. Are we really without sin too? Who are we to judge? please go sit in judgement amongst yourselves. Isn't that what jesus said look it up.
