Paris: Poor Penmanship but an Ace Artiste!

Last week, lady blog Jezebel had Paris Hilton's jail-time note examined by expert handwriting analyst Sheila Kurtz. According to Kurtz, Paris' scrawl style reveals a, uh, troubled soul. "Rarely do we see an independent adult write with such diminished capacity of comprehension," said Kurtz. So she's no Soren Kierkegaard." Harsh!

This week, the gals at Jezebel took Paris' artistic merits to task, and had Paris' drawing for TMZ's own Harvey Levin analyzed by acclaimed contemporary art expert James Romberger. His findings? She's a regular Frida Kahlo! Paging Mary Boone!

Says Romberger: [Paris] linework demands a new genre. Poignant and unintentionally surreal, heavily-laden with encoded symbology. He calls her work, "post-modernist-ish insider/outsider Art."

And that's art with a capital "A"!

136. Re: Paris handwriting analysis, Ms. Kurtz should have also been given some other writing samples of Paris to analyze, such as the letters/cards found in her locker that she wrote to Nick Carter. I think a clearer picture of Paris emerges. The letter she wrote from jail was way more stilted than her other samples, and indeed indicates a low intellect. (No, its not just the fact she rounds her m's and n's - speed is also an issue, the roundness of all the lettering, as is the failure to vary from textbook lettering technique.) I am sure the stress of jail and her depressed mood changed her handwriting a bit. Looking at the earlier letters to Nick, you can see her handwriting was slightly different. It still indicates immaturity, a preoccupation with appearance and superficial things, and a lack of independence. She writes like a 12 year old little girl - vain, trivial, self-obsessed, and vapid. (Gee, big surprise.) While the handwriting does not indicate a high intelligence, it does not indicate mental incapacity.
Something Kurtz didn't mention was the handwriting's slight indication of emotional instability, (something even more evident in the older handwriting samples.) The words wobble up and down along the baseline, esp. in the old letters, showing unstable moods.

137. more from Sheila Kurtz:

the writing indicates an immature and almost introverted child with a slow-witted, methodical mind (see the round-topped m's and n's, just like they taught her in grammar school).

Were it not for her intuition, which she may trust, but probably isn't trustworthy, the writer might take so long to come to reasonable conclusions that some would regard her as semi-handicapped.

She is very efficient with small details (closely dotted i's). However, in order to stave off confusion, she must take on and finish one thought process at a time and then move on. With too many irons in the fire, she will try but fail to do many of them acceptably well.

Her signature is cutesy-showy, which is how she wants the world to see her. She consciously writes little hearts as dots over the i's, a typical childish gesture by people who wish to call attention to themselves, to be in the spotlight.

When you look at the rest of her writing it bears no resemblance to her signature. (Signatures are like logotypes; they are created to portray a particular picture of personality to the world. There is a marked resemblance between her writing and that of Michael Jackson, whose signature is sophisticated but whose text writing is also simple-minded and pre-pubescent.

AND THE MOST TELLING OF ALL:
Rarely do we see an independent adult write with such diminished capacity of comprehension. This writer, it seems, may need competent adult guidance almost all the time. Those who pretend she is competent are probably taking advantage of her.

138. 71. I think Paris is very coquettish and knows how to manipulate men very well - did you notice with Larry's first question he asked Paris why she was doing the interview and she answered with flattery for Larry.

....When he first asked that question, Paris should have answered the truth: "Well my mother tried to pimp me out for cash but there were no takers and you were the only one willing to talk to me, Larry"
