155. Are you people who are questioning whether alcholism is a disease uneducated?

If you don't know what you are talking about (never studied alcoholism or viewed all the proof that it is a disease) don't chime in that it is not. Yet, I guess if you followed the logic that if you don't know what you are talking about remain silent, then all you getting your other info from tabloids would have nothing to say at all.

TMZ is not the place to discuss alcoholism. Some of the people who read this are impressionable and may actually believe your ignorance.

Somehow these few examples have endured and risen above the glaring spotlight without succumbing to peer pressure, drugs and all of the bad influences of Hollywood...... Weak soul, Lindsey - you might want to blame those horrible parenting skills on your parents - they should have taught you better about right and wrong and instead of developing your so called "talent", they should have been directing and guiding your soul. 163. First of all, my mother has been going to Alanon longer than I've been alive and growing up I would sit in on meetings with her and now I'm 21 and have been a member for 3 1/2 years. The reason I've shared that is that I can say that alcoholism is a disease. I know we have choices in what we drink but the disease part of alcoholism is after the alcoholic starts to drink they lose control. And their actions impact everyone around them, which is why there is Alanon.

I'm not even going to try sound like I know LL because I don't but from what I've heard she comes from a dysfunctional family and she is a product of her upbring (like Drew Barrymore was). Being in the spotlight at such a young only made things worse and for ever one to see. If I ever have children I'll never yet be a child star. Kids are only children once and they should enjoy it instead working their butts off. And maybe it's because I'm from the Midwest too that I find it disturbing that they let these famous, underage in their club and sell them alcohol. It might be because the place wants the publicity. That just makes me sick to stomach if that's the case and those places need to held responsible for contributing to the deliquency of minors.

And one last thing, AA and Alanon aren't about blaming other people, like Daddy not buying me a car, for a members drinking. It's about looking at yourself and taking responsibility for your own actions, something I think girls like LL and BS need to do because young people do look up to them wether they like it or not. If Lindsay gets the help she needs, great but she is goes to need lots of positive support around her to make it last. The rest of her family should probably seek some help too, there's no shame in it.

PS- There are lots of other ways to have instead of getting drunk or high

You people are a trip, the haters that is, do I particularily care for Lindsay Lohan, no not really, not her lifestyle that is, she is a pretty good actress though, shows promise, but I give you props and salute you for an attempt in cleaning up! This is from someone in A.A. who knows the importance of it, you normies it isn't that easy admitting you have a problem, harder to put yourself into a program, she's a kid for Christ's sake, at least she is trying or attempting to try, give her a hand for that! Do I think she'll make it? No probably not, she has just starting (using and drinking) and has a long way to go, and it's harder for someone like her who makes the bucks she does to admit she has a problem because each movie she makes she gets the nods of approval for her work, which only makes it harder to admit to yourself you have a problem. Thing about it all is you have to give up your old friends, tip Lohan, cut the old party buddies loose or you'll join them again and I applaud you for seeing you have a problem, hope you stick around and give it a shot, remember "one day at a time" is all it takes!
